Realtors to discuss land, housing policies

Members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers will discuss contemporary issues in the real estate industry when they gather on Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State at the 18th edition of the annual J. W. Ekpenyong lecture series.

The aim of the lecture, apart from immortalising the late first President of the institution, Mr. John Wood Ekpenyong, is to extol professionalism and promote desirable land, housing and economic development policies.

A statement made available to our correspondent on Friday said the forum would be used as an avenue to sensitise the government and the citizens on issues affecting the economic development of the nation, especially from the estate surveying and valuation perspective.

The statement added that the forum would also be used to induct members who had moved up to the Fellowship cadre.

The Honorary National Publicity Secretary of the institution, Mr. Emmanuel Mark, said all past NIESV presidents, council and management members, as well as ministers and commissioners with responsibility for housing and infrastructural development were being expected at the forum.
